The project, developed inside HEALTH OPTIMUM, proposed the application of technological standards used for the neurological for the treatment of ischemic stroke.

Thanks to the new managerial developed model, the clinician of the peripheral hospital centre can send a request for a telecounselling to the reference hospital centre. By using a videoconference system, the clinician of the “spoke” centre can evaluate together with the neurology specialist clinician in the “hub” centre radiology images and treat the patients’ data and parameters following international standards (SITS MOST and NIH Stroke Scale). This consents to have a quicker diagnosis and to apply the thrombolytic therapy to the suitable patient in the 3-hour lapse of time crucial to prevent disabilities caused by stroke. It is clear the advantage produced by the less number of transfers and the quickness of diagnosis with a related improvement in time in the process of healthcare for patients that need to have very fast clinical actions.

Arsenàl.IT operated as subcontractor as regards the technical area mainly as concern writing guidelines for the service implementation, following all start-up phases of the pilots and its following implementation.
